Sustainability

We believe that sustainable design is vital to the performance of any new build- especially new dwellings. Any feature that can help the end user save money and be environmentally beneficial is a must. As we aim for zero carbon homes, we look toward energy efficiency and renewable energies for the answers. All our new homes are specified with a high standard of insulation and we aim to have as low a U-value for each building element as possible. We have a wide experience in renewable energy sources and enable our clients to make informed choices about the systems to be installed in their new build. We also provide any calculations that are required to prove compliance under Part F of the Building Regulations (S.A.P., S.B.E.M. etc.)

We have been involved in a wide range of projects employing renewable technologies like;

  • Geothermal heat pumps
  • Air source heat pumps
  • Solar water heating
  • Photovoltaic panels
  • Wood chip boilers
  • Windmills (for electricity generation)

 We ensure that all our designs make the most of the available sunlight through correct orientation and careful use of glazing- this minimises unwanted solar gains, but flood the dwelling with natural light.....
